On February 17, 2017, silent wings came and took me to my home to be with my Heavenly Father.  I left this earthly place for a place of joy and peace.  I will miss you all but I was glad to go home, no more will I be alone, no more tears will I shed.  Do not cry or worry.  I have no regrets.

Beverly was the daughter of wonderful and loving parents Quincy and Evelyn Guise McCray.  She was born on November 1, 1949 in Blythewood, SC.

She was educated at Bethel Elementary and Bethel High School in Blythewood, SC. and graduated in 1967.  She also obtained further education as a Clerical Specialist at Career Training Center in Columbia, SC.  She held the following positions of employment:  Fairfield County School System, Tanglewood Healthcare, Richland County WIC Program, Fairfield County WIC Program which opened under her direction, Fairfield County Treasurer’s Office, and Fairfield County Transit System (from 1984 until retirement in 1998).

Beverly joined Bethel Baptist Church at an early age and as a child, she loved to read and study the word.  When she married, she joined Calvary Baptist Church.  She later changed her membership to Shiloh Church.  Ms. Able was a faithful church member who served and held various positions in all the churches she attended.  She loved to sing and was on the usher board and the choir.  She was also a Church Secretary, Youth Director, Sunday School and Bible Study Teacher.  She worked as a church Stewardess, Pastor’s Aid and with the youth as Director of Praise Dance, and several other positions.  She was a deeply spiritual person, serving wherever she could and always trusting God until her final moment.  Her life was a living testimony and rich with many blessings.  She loved and enjoyed life with family members and friends.  She believed in sharing whatever she had with those she loved.  She was always willing to lend a helping hand.

She was married to Ernest Able Sr. on July 2, 1967 at Bethel Baptist Church.  This marriage was blessed with three wonderful children.

To cherish her precious memories, she leaves her children, Ernest (Tonya) Able of Ridgeway, SC, Dolsie Able of Winnsboro, SC, Tiara (Boris) Henderson of Charlotte, NC;   brothers, Quincy (JoAnne) of Columbia, SC, Kenneth (Chartsie) of Columbia, SC; sisters,  Linda (Calvin) McCrorey of Columbia, SC, Margaret McCray of Warner Robbins, GA, Donna O’Daniel of Queens, NY, Veneshia McCray of Baltimore, MD; foster sisters, Dorothy Canzater and Margaret Ann Robinson of Boston, MA, Quinnie Lee McCray of Las Vegas, NV, and Daisy Bellamy of Georgia; grandson, William Henderson; granddaughters, Alexcian Able, India Able, and Blair Henderson; godson, Adam Boulware; god-granddaughter, Melissa Ashford;  special nephew, Herbert Williams; special niece, Kirsten Patterson.  Special remembrance to Maya, Cheyenne, Gianna, Rebecca, and Mariah.
