The Management and Support Staff of Nelson's Funeral Home sadly announce the death of Mrs. Burnell Gibson Moore, 81, of Blythewood, South Carolina.
Mrs. Moore departed her earthly life Monday, January 22, 2018.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, January 29, 2018, 1:00 p.m. at Nelson's Funeral Home Chapel, 270 N. Dogwood Ave. Ridgeway, SC 29130.
Interment will follow in Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery, 2092 Longtown Road, Ridgeway, South Carolina.
Public viewing will be held Sunday, January 28, 2018, beginning at 2:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.
Mrs. Burnell G. Moore, 81, was called home on Monday, January 22, 2018. Born July 16, 1936, she was the fourth child of the late Lewis and Lucinda McClurkin Gibson. At a young age, she became a faithful member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Ridgeway, SC. She was caring and loving daughter, wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Burnell worked in the Healthcare system for several years before going to work at Uniroyal Goodrich Tire Company where she retired after 28 years of service. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, bird-watching and caring for animals. She was always there willing to help anyone in need, believing it was her purpose in life. She cared for both parents during times of illness.
She is survived by her husband, Damon L. Moore; daughter, Beryl G. Myers of Ridgeway, SC; three grandchildren, Brian (Heather) Gibson of Bluffton, SC, Tisha Gibson of Blythewood, SC and Shaun (Tameaka) Gibson of Ridgeway,SC; seven great-grandchildren, Jeremiah Dillon, Rodney Gibson, Justice Dillon, Brian Gibson II, Ciara Gibson, Preston Gibson, Shaun Ca'lyn Gibson; two sisters, Ester Brown of Ridgeway, SC and Myrtle (Boysie) Ford of Ridgeway, SC; a host of nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Burnell was preceded in death by seven siblings, Doris, Mary, Toby, Harry, Donald, Betty and Lester.
