The Management and Support Staff of Nelson's Funeral Home, LLC  sorrowfully announce the death of Mr. Edward G. McClurklin, 50, of 9181 Hwy 34 East, Ridgeway, South Carolina.   Mr. McClurklin died  Thursday, February 5, 2015.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 12, 2015, 2:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church,  330 West Third Street, Ridgeway, South Carolina.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Public viewing will be held Wednesday, February 11, 2015,  2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home, 270 N. Dogwood Ave., Ridgeway, South Carolina.

Mr. Edward Glenn McClurkin of Ridgeway, South Carolina was born on August 9, 1964 in Ridgeway, South Carolina.  He was the son of Mrs. Mary Sue McClurkin and the late Mr. Jessie McClurkin.   He departed this earthly life suddenly on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at his residence. 

Edward graduated from Fairfield High School in Winnsboro, South Carolina and he attended Bethlehem Baptist Church in Ridgeway, South Carolina.   He was blessed with many friends and loved ones because of his warm, helpful, loving, and friendly personality.  He enjoyed spending time coaching and giving a listening ear to his two daughters.  Edward also enjoyed helping his nieces, nephews and children in the community by encouraging and motivating them to do their very best at all times.  He is now resting in the arms of Jesus Christ.

Edward leaves to cherish fond and precious memories his loving wife, Mrs. Ruby McClurkin; two beautiful daughters, Gwinderlynn McClurkin and Kimberly McClurkin; his loving mother, Mrs. Mary Sue McClurkin of Ridgeway, South Carolina; three sisters, Mrs. Stella (David) White of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, Mrs. Wilhemenia (Edwin) Jones of Columbia, South Carolina and Ms. Marilyn McClurkin of Ridgeway, South Carolina; six brothers, Mr. Jessie (Dianne) McClurkin of Columbus, Georgia, Mr. James (Judy) McClurkin of Inman, South Carolina, Mr. Randy (Jennell) McClurkin of Columbia, South Carolina, Mr. Raymond (Adrienne) McClurkin of Cameron, North Carolina; Mr. Melvin (Dean) McClurkin of Quincy, Florida, Mr. Michael (Jeanette) McClurkin of Tacoma, Washington; three brothers-in-law, Mr. Rueben (Sophia) Flowers, Jr. of Corpus Christi, Texas; Mr. Terris Flowers of Lexington, South Carolina, and Mr. Shon (Eboni) Flores of Columbia, South Carolina; one aunt, Mrs. Marion McClurkin, of Ridgeway, South Carolina; his mother-in-law, Ms. Bettye J. Flowers of Lexington, South Carolina; and a host of bereaved nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Katherine McClurkin and one brother, Calvin McClurkin.
