The Managements and Support Staff of Nelson's Funeral Home announce the death of Mr. Ernest Ralph Addison, 53, of Blythewood, South Carolina. 

Mr.  Addison transitioned Friday, January 5, 2018, at Palmetto Richland Hospital Columbia, South Carolina .  

Funeral services for Mr. Addison will be held Saturday, January 13, 2018, 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 716 Sandfield Road, Blythewood, SC 29016.  Interment will follow in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, 275 McNulty Street, Blythewood, SC 29016.  Mr. Addison will be available for public viewing, Friday, January 12, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.

Mr. Ernest Ralph Addison was born May 2, 1964 to Elizabeth Durham and the late George Addison, Sr.   He departed this earthly life on January 5, 2018 at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina. 

Ernest was a member of the Spring Valley High School Graduating Class of 1982 and he was the best construction worker in North and South Carolina.   He loved to sing, cook and work.   Ernest joined Calvary Baptist Church in 2017 and he worshipped there until his health began to decline. 

He leaves to cherish loving memories his wife, Anya Watkins Addison; six children, Latresse Addison, Catresse Addison, Shavaion Addison, Deiona Brown, Adrian Watkins and Deandre Watkins; four grandchildren, Keyanna Addison, Egypt Watkins, Zeira Watkins and Antione Jacques; his mother,  Mrs. Elizabeth Addison, two sisters, LaShonda Addison (Jeffery) Guider and, Reverend Doris (Ernest) Barber; three brothers, George (Shirley) Addison, Leon Addison and Rodney Addison; seven aunts, Delores Bynum, Roxie (Reverend Van B.) Fore, Shirley Addison, Bessie Summers, Josephine Tucker, Gladys Addison, and Polly (Ellis) Belton; three uncles Jerry Addison, Albert Milligan and Ernest Mack; goddaughter, Kaiden Singleton; a special nephew, John Canzater, Jr.; his best friends, Eric Palmer, Curtis Wright, Fredy Palmer, Michael Canzater, Arnold Palmer, Harry Canzater; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

He was preceded in death by one brother, Warren Addison.
