The Management and Support Staff of Nelson's Funeral Home announce the death of Mr. Eugene Richmond, 82, of Ridgeway, South Carolina. 

Mr. Richmond departed his earthly life Sunday, January 28, 2018, at Pruitt Health of Ridgeway, South Carolina.  

Funeral services for Mr. Richmond will be held Monday, February 5, 2018, 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark Baptist Church, 4118 Highway 34 East, Ridgeway, SC.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  Public viewing Sunday from 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Mr. Eugene Clarence Richmond, affectionately known as “Book,” was the son of the late Florence and Fleming Richmond.  He was born January 20, 1935 in Fairfield County.   He peacefully entered into eternal rest on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Pruitt Health in Ridgeway, SC. 

Eugene was educated in the Fairfield County Public Schools and he was a member of St. Mark Baptist Church in Ridgeway, SC.   After many years of service, he retired from the Pulp Wood Industry.   Eugene was an outdoorsman and he loved hunting, fishing and gardening. 

He leaves to cherish his memories one sister, Eva Burns of New York; two brothers, Willie Richmond and John (Clara) Richmond of Ridgeway, SC; nieces, nephews and a host of other loving relative and friends. 

He was preceded in death by five sisters, Mabel Martin, Johnnie Mae White, Pearl Kennedy, Ozetta Denson and Jessie Walker.
