It is with profound sorrow that the Management and Support Staff of Nelson's Funeral Home of Ridgeway announce the death of Apostle Howard Alexander Cloud, 84, of Irmo, South Carolina. 

Apostle Cloud departed his earthly life Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at his residence surrounded by his family. 

Apostle Cloud, was a former Apostle at The United House of Prayer For All People of Winnsboro, South Carolina. 

Funeral services for Apostle Howard Alexander Cloud will be held Saturday, March 12, 2016, 2:00 p.m. at The United House of Prayer For All People, 2426 Read Street, Columbia, SC 29204.  Interment will be held in the Fort Jackson National Cemetery on Monday, March 14, 2016, 12:00 noon.  

Public viewing will be held at the funeral home, Friday, March 11, 2016, from 2:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

 

A Time to Be Born

Born in Highpoint, North Carolina on March 18, 1931, Apostle Howard Alexander Cloud was born to Deacon Nathaniel Cloud and Saint Euzell Powell Cloud. His parents put his name on the role of the United House of Prayer For All People when he was a newborn.

 A Time to Learn

 Apostle Cloud left North Carolina at the early age of nine years old and attended public school in Stanford, Connecticut.  In 1955, Apostle Cloud entered the United States Air Force.  He served at Sampson Air Force Base - Geneva, New York. He was honorably discharged.

 A Time for Faith

After his honorary discharge, he became a deacon in the United House of Prayer in New Haven, Connecticut. He served in the House of Prayer as an organizer for youth programs. Apostle Cloud was blessed with the Holy Ghost when he was 26 years old while still in New Haven, Connecticut.  In the 1960’s he became a 500 # 1 Elder under Daddy McCollough. He progressed in his ecclesiastical career and became the youth pastor in New Haven, Connecticut. He simultaneously served as assistant pastor during that time.

A Time to Reap - Pastoral Positions

Under the orders of Daddy McCollough, the then Elder Cloud was sent to pastor in Stanford, Connecticut from 1970-1975.  Apostle Cloud became a General Councilman in 1973. From 1975 – 1992, Apostle Cloud served as pastor in Greensboro, North Carolina.  He served as pastor of New Haven, Connecticut from 1992 – 1994.  Apostle Cloud was the pastor in Winnsboro, South Carolina from 1994 – 2012.  After serving as a pastor for a total of 44 ½ years, Apostle Cloud continued his apostolic journey in the role of an evangelist.  He served as an evangelist from 2012 until he was called home to be with the Lord.

A Time of Love

On April 22, 1995, Apostle Cloud married his beloved Saint Corinthia Mintz.  From this marriage, two families united and blended.  All the children were well loved.

A Time to Weep

Apostle Cloud leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, Saint Corinthia Cloud of Columbia, SC; eleven children, Sister Alaina Elizabeth Cloud of Washington, D.C,  Sister Lisa Maria Cloud of New Haven, CT, Sister Ericka Cloud of Washington, D.C., Deacon Howard Gregory Cloud of Greensboro, NC, Brother Dennis Randall Cloud of Hartford, CT, Brother Jeffrey Alexander (Dorothy) Cloud of New Haven, CT, Sister Kimberly (Paul) Williams of Columbia, SC, Elder Lamar DeShawn Cloud of Columbia, SC, Brother Alex  

Sha’Ron Cloud of Columbia, SC, Brother Tamar Lashawn Sowell of Columbia, SC, Brother Carey Terrell (Kayla) Cloud of Columbia, SC.; his sisters, Saint Missionary Eugenia Burkett of New Haven, Ct, Saint Mary Francis Anderson of Gastonia, NC; and his brother, Brother Harold Eddie Cloud of Bridgeport, CT.

Apostle Cloud also leaves to remember him his grandchildren, Kaiden Jeremiah Roulston, Darryn Terrell Sowell, Keylin Tyree Sowell, Tyler Randall Cloud, and Brandon Michael Cloud.  He will also be remembered by his sisters-in-law, Sister Mary Jeanette Powell of Detroit MI, Sister Thelma Louise Massey of New Haven, CT, Sister Sherry Diane Massey of New Haven, CT, Saint Viola Cloud of Winnsboro, SC and Saint Teresa Cloud of Columbus, OH.  He will also be missed in the hearts of his brothers-in-law, Brother William Thomas Mintz of Fayetteville, NC and Brother Alphonso Gideon (Christine) Massey of Fayetteville, NC. Apostle Cloud also leaves a host of other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, relatives and friends to cherish his memory.

Special friends were Brother Tracy (Cheryl) Sunkins, Saint Elder W. J. (Jeanette) Henderson, Saint Edwinda Goodman and the family of Sister Marion Bowick.

Preceding him in death, were his father, Deacon Nathaniel Cloud; his mother, Saint Euzell Powell Cloud; two sisters, Saint Colia Cassie Williams and Argenia Bryant; and his brothers, Saint Elder Robert Cloud, and Apostle Willis Cloud.
