The Management and Support Staff of Nelson's Funeral Home sadly announce the death of Mrs. Izora Ashford, 91, of Winnsboro, South Carolina. 

Mrs. Ashford transitioned into eternity Thursday morning at Providence Hospital Columbia, South Carolina. 

Funeral Services for Mrs. Izora Ashford will be held Tuesday, November 21, 2017, 2:00 p. m. at St. Matthews First Baptist Church, 3853 Estes Lane, Winnsboro, SC.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  Public viewing will be held Monday, November 20, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.

Mrs. Izora Ashford was born July 6, 1926 in Winnsboro, South Carolina.   She was the daughter of the late Edgar and Rosa Watts.   She departed this earthly life on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Providence Health Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina. 

Mrs. Ashford was educated in the Public Schools of Fairfield County.   She was married to the late Mr. Edward Ashford, Sr. and they were blessed with four children.  She worked for the Fairfield County School District for many years. 

She was a faithful member of St. Matthews First Baptist Church and her life was a living testimony and rich with many blessings.   Mrs. Ashford believed in sharing whatever she had with everyone that she loved. 

Mrs. Ashford leaves to cherish her precious memories, one daughter, Rosa Ashford of Winnsboro, SC; two sons Tim Ashford and James (Linda) Ashford; one granddaughter, Quincey Connie Ashford; one sister, Josie Mae Henderson of Baltimore, MD; one brother-in-law, Thomas Pearson; one sister-in-law, Mildred Pearson; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many other loving and caring relatives and friends; all of whom will miss her dearly. 

In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Ashford was preceded in death by one son, Edward Ashford, Jr.; one grandson, Quincey D. Ashford; two brothers, Colton and Buddy Watts; and one sister, Ethel Lee Henderson.
