Kathlyn Edmunds

The Management and Support Staff of Nelson's Funeral, LLC announce the death of Ms. Kathlyn Edmunds, 74, of Ridgeway, South Carolina.  Ms. Edmunds died Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at Palmetto Health Hospital Columbia, South Carolina. 

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August  15, 2015, 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, 2092  Longtown Road, Ridgeway, South Carolina. 

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Public viewing will be held  Friday, August 14, 2015, 12:00 noon until 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home 270 North Dogwood Ave. Ridgeway, South Carolina.

Ms. Kathlyn Edmunds made her transition on August 11, 2015 at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina after a brief illness.

Kathlyn was born on June 28, 1941 to the late Walter J. and Mary Grimes Edmund.  Kathlyn was known as “Petie.”  She attended the public schools of Fairfield County where she graduated from Fairfield High School.   After graduation from high School, Kathlyn attended Benedict College in Columbia, South Carolina.

She relocated to Greenwich, Connecticut and worked at Greenwich Memorial Hospital until her retirement.   After retiring, she relocated to Ridgeway, South Carolina.

At an early age, Kathlyn joined Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church and she was a member of the Eastern Stars Chapter II Longtown.

She leaves to cherish fond memories four brothers, Thomas Walter (Margarie) Edmunds of Ridgeway, South Carolina, Oscar (Geneva) Edmunds, Douglas (Pondorious) Edmunds both of Columbia, South Carolina and Stanley Edmunds of Greenville, South Carolina;  one sister, Shirley Edmunds of ridgeway, South Carolina; her step-mother, Aileen A. Edmunds of Ridgeway, South Carolina; her special cousin who was like a sister, Dorothy Gene Clark of Yorkton, South Dakota; her special friend, Walter Sanders;  and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends who will all miss her dearly.
