In the early morning hours of Mother's Day, Sunday May 10, 2015, our Heavenly Father whispered sweet peace to his daughter, Mildred "Toot" Allen, and beckoned her to come home.

Mildred was born in Blythewood, South Carolina on October 13, 1930 to the late James and Fannie Ford. She was full of energy and love and it carried over throughout her life. She attended the public schools in Fairfield County and was a Caregiver for many years.   At a young age, she gave her life to Christ and she attended Calvary Baptist Church of Blythewood until her health began to decline.   Her family was important to her.  She enjoyed family gatherings and sitting on her porch eating Honey Buns and drinking her Pepsi.

Among many things, she will be remembered for her loving heart, humble spirit, and stylish dressing. She leaves to mourn and cherish loving memories her daughters,  Barbara A. Belton and Carolyn (James) Canzater, both of Ridgeway South Carolina;  one son, Willie James (Bertha) Allen of Elgin, SC; four sisters, Dorothy (Curtis), Ophelia, Ozella, and Martha all of Baltimore, Maryland;  two brothers, George Ford and Douglas (Mae) Ford of Baltimore, Maryland; nine grandchildren, Dora (William) Bush, Daphine Allen, Minister Sabrina (Reverend Zaccheaus) Holmes, James (Trentcina) Allen, and Eddie Allen, all of Columbia, South Carolina; Warren (Amanda) Allen of Elgin, South Carolina,  Vincent Allen, Natasha Belton, and Sheila Allen all of Ridgeway, South Carolina; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; Monique Allen, Shantanna and Shatara Blanding, William Bush, Jr., Taigon Jones, Shakima Brown, Jalisa Weston, Alexis Thomas, Alaja and Aaliyah Holmes, Christopher Jenkins, Jada Jeter, MaKayla Allen, Isaiah and Justus Hollis, Fredrica, Asia, Ivey, and Isaiah Allen, Vincent, Arianna and MaKenzie Allen, Derrick and Deandre Wright, Taneah and Taniyah Free, Kountney Sweat, Tylone Mizell, LaTorie Wise; and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives and other family and friends, all of whom will share in grief caused by her departure, but rejoice that she is now resting with the Lord. A mother, grandmother, and sister, with such sweet memories of your smile, your kindness and boundless love, will always shine bright in our hearts. We love you and will miss you dearly, but we will be alright, so take your rest "Sexy Lady".

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband David "Mett" Allen; her parents, James and Fannie Ford; one sister, Lois McCants and two brothers, Daniel and Willie Ford.
