Odell Woodard

It is with profound sorrow that the Management and Support Staff of Nelson's Funeral Home of Ridgeway announce the death of Odell Woodard, 46, of Ridgeway, South Carolina.  He departed his earthly life Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Palmetto Richland Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina. 

Funeral services for Mr. Woodard will be held Sunday, March 6, 2016, 3:00 p.m. at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, 2092 Longtown Road, Ridgeway, SC 29130.   Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  Public viewing will be held Saturday, March 5, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Mr. Odell “Pop” Woodard, Jr., was born in Ridgeway, South Carolina on March 13, 1969.  He departed this earthly life on March 2, 2016 at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina.  He was the son of the late Odell Woodard, Sr. and Clara Bell Woodard.

He attended the Public Schools of Fairfield County.  He was a graduate of the Fairfield Central High School Class of 1987.  After graduating from high school, he attended Livingstone College in Salisbury, North Carolina and he was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church.  He loved his grandson, Chase and he loved watching football.  He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys.    Odell was the owner of Woodard’s Logging.

Odell, Jr. leaves to cherish warm and fond memories one daughter, Tiyanna Woodard of Winnsboro, South Carolina; one son, Tevin Vanderhall of Ridgeway, South Carolina; one grandson, Chase Evans; four sisters, Odessa Davis and Sandra (Rauf) Jones of Ridgeway, South Carolina, Gertrude Hutchinson and Jackie (Ira) Davis of Columbia, South Carolina; aunts, uncles, and a host of other loving relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
