Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 27, 2013, 12:00 noon, at Antioch Baptist Church, 1145 Old Windmill Road, Ridgeway, South Carolina 29130.  The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 26, 2013, 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Sarah Cornelius Tucker was born on November 10, 1920 to the late Nicky and Fannie Canty.   She departed this earthly life on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Providence Hospital, Columbia, South Carolina.

She attended the public schools of Fairfield County.  Mrs. Tucker accepted Christ at an early age and joined Antioch Baptist Church in Ridgeway, South Carolina, where she was a faithful member until her health began to decline.  Mrs. Tucker was a homemaker who enjoyed canning fruits and vegetables from her garden, cooking for her family and quilting.  She provided quilts for the entire family and they will be forever cherished.  Mrs. Tucker reared her own eleven children and many children from the community.  She enjoyed visiting with family and friends.

Mrs. Tucker was preceded in death by four children, Mary France Bell, Virginia Robertson, Bobby Tucker and Kenneth Tucker.

She leaves to cherish her fond and loving memories: four daughters, Ida Bush of Blythewood, SC, Dorothy Nelson of Lugoff, SC, Fannie (John) Ford and Bernice (Rudy) Montgomery of Ridgeway, SC; three sons, Proven (Marilyn) Tucker, Moses (Burnice) Tucker and Willie Marion (Brenda) Roach of Ridgeway, SC; two daughter-in-laws, Martha Tucker of Ridgeway, SC and Roslyn Tucker of Elgin, SC;  one son-in-law, George Bell of Ridgeway, SC and  three grandchildren, who she reared in her home, Ronald (Shirley) Bush, Ernestine (John) Hemphill of Ridgeway, SC and Debra (Kenneth) Tucker of Elgin, SC; thirty-six grandchildren, forty-one great- grandchildren, and sixteen great-great grandchildren;  two brothers, Jason and John Canty, both of Winnsboro, SC; one sister, Sadie Thomas, of Winnsboro, SC; special caregivers, Evelyn Hudson, Dorothy Cornelius, Bobbi Jean Scott, Ruth Moore and Rose Johnson.
