It is with heartfelt sympathy that the Management and Support Staff of Nelson's Funeral Home, LLC announces the death of  Mrs. Sharon Mary Jones, 55, of  201 Cartgate Cicrle, Blythewood, South Carolina.  Mrs. Jones, died Saturday July 4, 2015 at her residence.

Sharon Jones passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 4, 2015.  Sharon was the wife of Joe F. Jones of Blythewood, SC.  In addition to her loving husband, Sharon is survived by her father, Robert H. Korabik of Norridge, IL; one sister, Barbara (Orest) Burdiak of Chicago, IL;  two children, Reagan (Josh) Davis  and Brittany (Micah) Valentine; five grandchildren,  Athan and Atticus  Davis of Oakdale, MN and  Joseph, Braden, and Eli Valentine of Simpsonville, SC; one sister-in-law,  Cindy Korabik of Cary, NC; three nephews, Bradley, Bryce, and Chase Korabik of Cary, NC.           

Sharon was employed for a number of years as a sales manager with the South Carolina Electric, and Gas Company.  In addition to an accomplished professional career, Sharon received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Accounting from DePaul University and an M.B.A. degree from Dominican University.  Sharon had numerous hobbies, including golf, clay shooting, gardening, swimming, and entertaining friends and family.  Most of all, she enjoyed traveling abroad, and her favorite destination was Paris, France.  She was an active grandmother of five wonderful grandchildren.  Sharon was truly an amazing, passionate, and lovely woman who richly blessed the lives of her family and friends.  She will be deeply missed; however, her family and friends find comfort in knowing she is in a much better place.

Sharon was preceded in death by her mother, Della Korabik of Norridge, IL and her brother, Robert J. Korabik of Cary, NC. 

A memorial service and a celebration of Sharon’s life will be held  Friday, July 24, 2015, 2:30 p.m. at Nelson's Funeral Home Chapel, 270 N. Dogwood Ave. Ridgeway, South Carolina  29130. A reception will be held after the ceremony beginning at 3:30 p.m. unitl 5:30 p.m at The Windermere Club 1101 Longtown Road East, Blythewood, South Carolina 29106.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her honor to either St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
