Teresa S. Young was born March 12, 1955 to the late Thomas G. Mobley, Sr. and the late Dorothy G. Sampson.  She answered God’s call from Palmetto Health Richland Hospital in Columbia, SC on Thursday, May 19, 2016.

Teresa accepted our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at an early age.  She became a member and faithful Servant of St. John A.M.E. Church in the Middle Six Community of Winnsboro, SC.   She was the church secretary and the Pastor’s Armor-Bearer.  Teresa was employed at the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control and Bath and Body Works.

She was educated in the Public Schools of Fairfield County.  Teresa graduated from Winnsboro High in 1973 and she also graduated from several community colleges receiving certificates for her studies, as well as, earning her Bachelor of Science Degree in 2012 from the University of South Carolina.

Teresa was a very lovely, peaceful, kind-hearted and giving person that walked in the fruits of the spirit.  She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, helping others, and working on computers.   She truly enjoyed her church family and commitment to her work as a Servant of the Lord.   She touched many lives everywhere she went with her soft-spoken voice, smile, giggle and encouraging words.  Her favorite motto was “I am OK, God got me in his hands.”

She leaves to cherish her loving memories one daughter, Kawiana  Young of Columbia, SC; one son, Darrell (Ashton) Young of Ridgeway, SC;  four sisters, Adrian Sampson, Annette Mobley, Michelle Mobley,  and Deborah (Derrick) Jones; three brothers, Bobby A. Sampson, Thomas (Staci) Mobley, Jr., and Eric (Jennifer) Mobley; six grandchildren who she adored, Passion, Amin, Jordan, Bailey, Wyatt and Waylon; two precious great-grandchildren, Peyton and Chance; a loving devoted aunt and uncle whom she cherished, David (Helen) Washington; a host of other loving relatives and friends; her special friend and co-worker, Jan Feaster-Carter.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Robert Sampson, Jr.
