Mr. Willie Brown, Jr of 409 Bradford Lane, Columbia, South Carolina died Wednesday, July 27, 2011.  Funeral services for Mr. Brown will be held Monday, August 1, 2011, 6:00 p.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church, 1063 Old Two Notch Road, Elgin, South Carolina.   Interment will be Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at 11:00 a.m., Fort Jackson National Cemetery.   Public viewing will be held Sunday, July 31, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Mr. Brown will be placed in the church for public viewing from 5:00 p.m. until the hour of service.

Mr. Willie Brown, Jr. affectionately known as “Junior” was born in Hopkins, South Carolina on January 28, 1951.   He was the son of the late Willie Brown, Sr. and Lillian Brown.  On July 27, 2011, Willie peacefully entered into eternal rest.

Willie was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, nephew, uncle and a true friend to many.  He was entirely devoted to his family and dedicated his life to their care and comfort.  He was a good and kind-hearted gentleman who was always willing to help his family, friends and neighbors.   He was well known in and outside the community for his lawn care services.   He was dependable and extremely generous with his time and talents.

In addition to his mother and father, Willie was preceded in death by his sister, Helen Pickett.

Willie leaves to cherish his precious memories forever his wife, Denita S. Brown; two children, Kevin (Sherry) Brown Sr. and Kembrely (Germaine) Williams of Columbia, South Carolina; four grandchildren, Kevin Brown, Jr., Aaron Williams, Brandon Williams and Malik Williams of Columbia, South Carolina; two sisters, Nellie (Joseph) Boyd of Houston, Texas and Vivian (Tony) B. Dowdy of Columbia, South Carolina; three brothers, Charles (Holly) Brown of Hopkins, South Carolina, Joe (Charlene) Brown of Greenville, South Carolina, and Gregory (Kerry) Brown of Hopkins, South Carolina; and a host of other relatives and friends.
