The loss of a loved one is a heart- wrenching experience. It is with profound sadness that we, the management (Eddie & Jackie Nelson) and the support staff of Nelson’s Funeral Home announce the passing of Mr. John Lawhorn of Blythewood, South Carolina.

Mr. Lawhorn departed this life on Friday, March 22, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He is a native of Blythewood, South Carolina and was blessed to have lived a long and active life for 95 years.

Mr. Lawhorn, affectionately known as “Bubba”, was the beloved father of nine children. He leaves a host of family and friends to cherish his precious memory.

Homegoing services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 30, 2024 at the Nelson’s Funeral Home Chapel, 270 N. Dogwood Avenue, Ridgeway, SC 29130 with committal at Memorial Gardens of Columbia, 9301 Wilson Blvd, Columbia, SC.

A public viewing will be held Friday, March 29, 2024 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Mr. Lawhorn was the husband of the late Johnnie Mae Robinson Lawhorn.
