The Management and Support Staff of Nelson's Funeral Home sadly announce the death of Ms. Blanche A. Gripper, 75, of Elgin, South Carolina.  Ms. Gripper departed her life Monday, August 6, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her family. 

Funeral Services for Ms. Gripper will be held Friday, August 10, 2018, 2:00 p.m. at High Hill Baptist Church, 849 Watts Hill Road, Elgin, South Carolina.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery. 

Sister Blanche A. Gripper was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, August 6, 2018. She was born January 20, 1943 to the late Thurmond and Geneva Gripper in Elgin, SC where she spent most of her life.

She was educated in the Kershaw County School System and furthered her education by attending Benedict College in Columbia, SC and getting her Bachelor’s degree in Biology. In addition, she earned certificates in Computer Repair at ITT Tech.

Blanche was a member of High Hill Baptist Church in Elgin, South Carolina where she served on the Jubilee Choir, Usher Board, Missionary Society, and taught Vacation Bible School.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory, her two sons, Marcus (Tera) Wood of Shippensburg, Pennsylvania and Joshua Clark Gripper of Spartanburg, South Carolina; three daughters, Sarah (Charles) Robinson of Oahu, Hawaii, April Gripper of Ridgeway, South Carolina and Ritalia Gripper of Columbia, South Carolina; one sister, Janie (Willie) Nash of Charlotte, North Carolina; and one brother Thurmond (Martha) Gripper of Hopkins, South Carolina; six grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Minnie Gripper; nieces, nephews, cousins  and a host of friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, two brothers, James and Terry Gripper and one sister, Joan Wood.
