It is with deepest sympathy that Eddie & Jackie Nelson and the Support Staff of Nelson's Funeral Home sadly announce the death of Mrs. Carolyn Moore Belton, 63, of Columbia, South Carolina.
Funeral services for Mrs. Belton will be held Thursday, November 1, 2018, 1:00 p.m. at Living Word Church and Fellowship, 9558 Two Notch Road, Columbia, SC 29223. Interment will follow in Fairfield Memorial Cemetery in Winnsboro, SC. Mrs. Belton will be available for public viewing Wednesday, October 31, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
Mrs. Carolyn Elaine Moore Belton was born July 6, 1955 in Winnsboro, SC. She was the daughter of the late Louie H. Moore and Mattie Able Moore. She departed this earthly life Friday, October 26, 2018 at her residence.
Carolyn Moore Belton attended Fairfield High School and graduated from Winnsboro High School in the Class of 1973 (actually graduating a year before her class). She was also a student at Iverson Institute of Court Reporting. Carolyn was a faithful member of Cathedral of Faith Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Bishop J. E. Hornsby in Euless, Texas where she served as a praise dancer and a member of the choir. While in Texas, she served as a loan officer for Wells Fargo Bank in Bedford, Texas.
Carolyn was the proud owner of Yesterday’s Treasures Thrift and Consignment Shop in Winnsboro SC. She was also a dedicated member of Living Word Church of Fellowship in Columbia, SC where she served as watchman and choir member. One of her favorite songs was “Clean” by Natalie Grant.
Mrs. Belton loved her family dearly. She loved interior decorating, gardening, collecting and sharing antiques and religious literature. She was well known for extending a helping hand wherever she saw a need, blessing people everywhere she went. She spent her last days with her grandchildren who were the light of her life.
Carolyn was the loving wife of David Belton for six years and loving mother of Tykisha Murphy of Galveston TX, Cuesta Murphy of Austin TX, Mattiesea (Russell) Bott of Fort Worth TX, Thomas Murphy, III of Beaumont TX, and Silynsi Murphy Fort Worth, TX. She was grandmother to Elijah Kabatumbi, Elayna Kabatumbi, Isaiah Kabatumbi, Kaylee Bott, Daniel Bott, Andrew Bott, Azion Murphy-Gibbs, Zaiden Jones, Taylan Knight, Timmy Knight, Mazie Murphy and Molly Murphy. Others left to cherish loving memories are her siblings, Julius Moore, Elders Jennifer Moore Harper (Edward) Jenkins, and Mary Ann Moore (James L) Anderson, all of Winnsboro, SC, Margaret Louise Moore (James) Mack of Columbia, SC, James Jacob (Marvy) Moore of Duluth, GA, Louie S. (Carolyn) Moore of Winnsboro, SC and Terence D. (Kristina) Moore of Millville, NJ; her best friend, Gail Wynn of Euless Texas; one brother-in-law; four sisters-in-law; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a best friend.
Carolyn was loved by many and will be missed by many more. She will forever remain in our hearts.
