The Management and Support Staff of Nelson's Funeral Home Sadly announce the death of Mr. David Washington, 81, of Ridgeway. 

Mr.  Washington transitioned into eternity, Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at Providence Hospital Columbia, South Carolina. 

Graveside services will be held Saturday,  December 16, 2017, 12:00 Noon at St. John A.M.E. Church Cemetery, 2740 Old Camden Road, Winnsboro, South Carolina.

Public viewing will be held Friday, December 15, 2017, 2:00 p.m. until 6:30p.m.

On Tuesday evening, December 12, 2017, David “Buddy” Washington departed this life at Providence Health Hospital in Columbia, SC at the age of 81.  David was born August 17, 1936 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Washington.

Buddy was educated in the Public Schools of Fairfield County and he was the owner of a business.

David leaves to cherish his memories: a devoted wife of 56 years, Helen Washington; four daughters, Cynthia Jackson of Salisbury, NC, Sylvia (Larry) Beaver of Winnsboro, SC, Shanna Washington (Arsagius) of Elgin, SC and Adonta (Gregory) Green of Blythewood, SC; three sons, Van (Doretha) Gaither, Timothy Washington of Ridgeway, SC and Vincent (Lisa) Washington of Charlotte, NC; three brothers, General Washington, Clifton (Leana) Washington and Paul Washington of Charlotte, NC; two sisters, Lucy (Charlie) Walker of Ridgeway, SC and Paulette Washington of Charlotte, NC; one sister-in-law, Lois G. Davis; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Morris Washington and Jim Washington.
