The Management and Support Staff of Nelson's Funeral Home sadly announce the death of Mr. Larry Gibson, 65, of Elgin, South Carolina. 

Mr. Gibson, departed his earthly life Monday, December 25, 2017, at Kershaw Health Hospital, Camden, South Carolina. 

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 30, 2017, 1:00 p.m. at Nelson's Funeral Home Chapel, 270 N. Dogwood Ave., Ridgeway, South Carolina. Interment will follow in Rehoboth Baptist Church Cemetery (The Ridgeway Site).  

Public viewing will be held Friday, December  29, 2017, 2:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.

The Rev. Curtis Robertson will officiate.

Mr. Larry Gibson, son of the late Mattie Gibson and Willie Lee Johnson was born May 4, 1952 in Camden, SC.   He departed this earthly life on December 25, 2017 at Kershaw Medical Center in Camden, SC. 

Larry attended C. A. Johnson High School in Columbia, SC and he received his high school diploma in the Job Corps.  He enjoyed family, fishing and he loved animals.   Larry worked in the construction industry until his health began to decline. 

He leaves to cherish warm and fond memories seven sisters, Mary (Morris) Moore, Ida Mae Johnson, Tracy (Tracy) Woodard and Vanessa Johnson all of Ridgeway, SC, Cristal Gibson,  Brenda (Ronald) Simmons,  and Jacqueline (Ira) Davis all of Columbia, SC; eight brothers, Dale Gibson, Willie Johnson, George Johnson, Kelvin Johnson, and Reggie Johnson all of Ridgeway, SC, Tommy Lee Gibson of Elgin, SC and Tyrone Gibson of Columbia, SC; one loving and special cousin, Floyd Hutchinson; one loving and special stepmother, Rosa Lee Johnson; a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by one brother, Donovan Johnson and a special niece, Yukia Gibson.
