 It is with profound sorrow that the Management and Support Staff of Nelson's Funeral Home announce the death of Ms. Terra Kennedy Freeman, 40, of Columbia, South Carolina.

Ms. Freeman transitioned into eternity Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital in Columbia, SC.

Terra Kennedy Freeman, the daughter of Ruth Owens Kennedy and the late Melvin Kennedy was born May 12, 1977.   She received her wings and departed this earthly life on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Palmetto Richland Hospital in Columbia, SC.

Terra joined Calvary Baptist Church in Ridgeway, SC. She was a member of the Young Adult Choir and the Praise Team.

Terra was educated in the Public Schools of Fairfield County where she graduated from Fairfield Central High School in 1995.   She continued her education at South Carolina State University earning a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Human Resources in 1999.  She furthered her education at Webster University receiving a Master’s Degree in Information Technology Management.  Terra also held a Cosmetology License, she worked as a Sales Associate at Verizon Wireless, an Insurance Adjustor for Allstate Insurance and lastly as a Claims Adjustor for Seibels Insurance.

Terra leaves to cherish her loving memory one daughter, Haley Freeman and one son, Covington Hoover both of Columbia, SC; her loving and devoted mother, Mrs. Ruth Owens Kennedy of Blythewood, SC; two brothers, Mr. Ceff Kennedy of Charlotte, NC and Mr. Kelly (Kimberly) Craig of Elgin, SC; four aunts, Emma Owens and Rosa Owens of Washington, DC, Robbie (George) Peoples of Charlotte,NC and Alice Kennedy of Winnsboro, SC; four uncles, Artimus (Thelma) Owens and Jake Owens of Connecticut, Brice (Lavern) Kennedy of Lancaster, SC and Haskel (Lottie) Kennedy of Winnsboro, SC; four great-aunts, Mrs. Carrie M. Able of Ridgeway, SC, Mrs. Nancy Exxum of Washington, DC, Mrs. Marie Canty of Columbia, SC and Mrs. Mary Burnett of Detroit, MI; two great-uncles, Mr. Andrew Belton and Mr. William Belton both of Washington, DC; a special friend, Mr. Gregory Hoover of Columbia, SC.   She also leaves to cherish her memory a host of cousins and friends, all of whom will miss her smile and laughter dearly.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday, January 21, 2018, 2:00 p.m. at Fairfield Central High School  Auditorium, 321 Bypass Winnsboro, South Carolina. 

Interment will follow in Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery, 2815 East Peach Road, Ridgeway, South Carolina.
