Subject: COVID-19 Safety Plan- Putting Families First
We are privileged to serve those who desire our services during their time of need.  We take the safety and health of your family very seriously.  We always strive to exceed the expectations for every family, and will continue to do so during these challenging days ahead. We want to ensure you; we are taking extra precautions in our facility by sanitizing it daily. We need your help, COVID-19 is sweeping the nation and requiring our immediate attention and adjustments in the way we manage our services.  Please be considerate and help us as we try to keep our families, staff and facility safe.

It is with broken hearts and mixed emotions that Eddie & Jackie Nelson and the Support Staff of Nelson’s Funeral Home sympathetically announce the passing of Mrs. Barbara Murphy Williams, 65, of Lugoff, South Carolina.

Mrs. Williams transitioned into eternity to be with the Lord Thursday, March 17, 2022.

Barbara Murphy Williams was born on September 3, 1956 in Lugoff, SC to the late Paul and Maggie Murphy.  She passed away suddenly on Wednesday, March 17, 2022 of an unexpected illness.   Barbara was known for her soft-spoken voice and kind heart.   She was a wonderful caring mother, sister, and friend.   Barbara spent the last few years driving a school bus for the Kershaw County School District.   The children brought her joy and laughter daily.

She is survived by her daughter, Chasidy Murphy of Texas; one brother, Paul (Sharon) Murphy of Alabama; two sisters, Cynthia Nelson and Pamela (Dallas) Hudson of Lugoff, SC.  She was loved by her nieces and nephews: Melody Nelson, Kevin Nelson, Brittany Hudson, Brandon Hudson, Shane Murphy, Seth Murphy and Brianna Murphy. She was a great friend to many and her soft voice and generous spirit will be missed by us all.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Vandy Williams.

The family has chosen  not to have a public viewing. The family ask that you respect their wishes.
