We, the management (Eddie & Jackie Nelson) and the support staff of Nelson’s Funeral Home sadly announce the passing of Mr. Cyrus W. Boyd, 80, of Winnsboro, South Carolina.  Mr. Boyd entered into eternity Tuesday, October 16, 2023   

Memorial Services will be held Friday, October 20, 2023, 2:00 p.m. at Washington Street Baptist Church, 101 S. Vanderhorst Street, Winnsboro, South Carolina 29180.  

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Washington Street Baptist Church.

Mr. Cyrus Wilson Boyd of Winnsboro, South Carolina passed away surrounded by his loving family, on Monday, October 16, 2023 at Prisma Health Richland Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina.

Cyrus was born in Chester, South Carolina on January 15, 1943 to the late Robert Aaron and Mary Orr Boyd.  He was an active and faithful member of Washington Street Baptist Church where he served as Deacon for many years.  He enjoyed hunting, Gamecock football, and especially his five grandsons and five great-grandchildren.  Cyrus retired from UPS after 30 years of loyal service.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 60 years, Suzette Boulware Boyd, as well as his two daughters, Laura Boyd (Chip) Branham and Rebecca Boyd (James) Aldridge; his grandsons, Russell Boyd (Rachael) Branham, Rion Fulmer (Toni) Branham, Reed Aaron (Victoria) Branham, Drew Aldridge, and Logan Aldridge; great-grandchildren, Rhett Taylor Branham, Ava Lauren Branham, Wyatt Rion Branham, Wilder Grace Branham, and Indie Soleil Branham; one brother, Robert P. Boyd; and two sisters, Frances Ussery and Mary Helen Funderburk.

In addition to his parents, Cyrus was preceded in death by one sister, Arlene Boyd and one brother, John Boyd.
