Mr. Gary Lester Owens, 85, of Winnsboro, South Carolina.  Mr. Owens passed Sunday, July 28, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.   

Mr. Owens lived in Winnsboro, South Carolina, but he was formerly of West Jefferson, North Carolina.     

Mr. Owens loved genealogy, Bluegrass music and he played various instruments but the mandolin was his favorite.

Mr. Owens is survived by one son, Robert Owens (Pam Bairefoot); one daughter, Rose (Stephen) Byrd; one granddaughter, Amanda Speagle (Justin); three great-grandsons, Jaxon Speagle, Braxten Owens, and Kayden Richard Speagle; two sisters, Mildred Franklin and Meryl Queen; one sister-in-law, Lillian Weissenberger; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ollie Alta Owens; his parents, Lonnie and Maude Owens; and two sisters, Mabel Johnston and Mary Poteet.   

The family will host a visitation Tuesday, July 30, 2024, 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at their residence 416 Hudson Street, Winnsboro, South Carolina 29180.
