We are privileged to serve those who desire our services during their time of need.  We take the safety and health of your family very seriously.  We always strive to exceed the expectations for every family, and will continue to do so during these challenging days ahead. We want to ensure you; we are taking extra precautions in our facility by sanitizing it daily. It is with great sadness that Eddie & Jackie Nelson and the Support Staff of Nelson’s Funeral Home sadly announce the passing of Mr. James David Mattox, II, 35, of Ridgeway, South Carolina. 
 
Mr. Mattox transitioned into eternity Monday, August 9, 2021 at his residence.

James David Mattox, II was the son of James D. and Peggy Reynolds Mattox. He was born March 31, 1986 and he departed this life on August 9, 2021 at his home in Ridgeway, SC.

He graduated from Ridgeview High School in Columbia, SC.   He was a skilled welder and was employed by Laserform and Machine in Columbia, SC

Those left to cherish his memories are his parents; his grandmother, Mary Mattox of Ridgeway, SC; great-aunt, Jeanette Richardson of Ridgeway, SC; great-uncles, Jack Mattox and Stanley Carter both of Ridgeway, SC; uncles, Donnie Reynolds of Columbia, SC and Lynn Mattox of Ridgeway, SC; one aunt, Nancy Blakely; and several loving cousins.                                             

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mabel Williams and his grandfathers, James “Jimmy” Mattox and Bobby Williams. "Work hard, play hard" were his words. We will miss you.
