The passing of a loved one is a heart wrenching experience; it is with profound sadness that the management staff Eddie & Jackie Nelson and the support staff of Nelson's Funeral Home of Ridgeway announce the passing of Mr. John G. Mobley, Sr. 97, of Winnsboro, South Carolina.

A proud veteran of World War II, Mr. Mobley served his country with honor and courage. After his military service, he devoted his life to education, inspiring countless students as a dedicated mathematics teacher. His love for learning and commitment to his students left a lasting impact on all who knew him. 

Outside of the classroom, Mr. Mobley was an avid outdoorsman.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening- finding joy and peace in nature.  However, above all else, he deeply loved his family.

His life was a testament to hard work, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to those he held dear.  Mr. Mobley's legacy of service, wisdom, and loved will continue to live on though his family, friends and the many lives he touched throughout his 97 remarkable years. He will be missed more than words can express. 

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, May 20, 2025, 10:00 a. m. at Holy Nation Church, 1922 Mitchell Street, Columbia South Carolina.  Interment will follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery at 12:00 noon with full military honors. 

Public visitation with the family will be held Monday, May 19, 2025, 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Nelson's Funeral Home, 270 N. Dogwood Ave. Ridgeway, South Carolina.
