Obituary

While the impacts of COVID-19 have slowed, it is still a real impact to the health and safety of all therefore, Nelson’s Funeral Home takes the safety and health of families very seriously.  We will continue to implement the policy of mask requirements for all large gatherings such as viewings, visitations and funeral services as you enter into our facility. Please be considerate and help us as we try to keep our families, staff, and facility safe.

“Little did we know, the day that God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you but you didn’t go alone, for part of us went with you the day God called you home”.

On behalf of the management (Eddie and Jackie Nelson) and the support staff of Nelson’s Funeral Home, it is with heartfelt sadness that we extend our sympathy and gratitude to the family of Mr. Julius Bernie Enloe, 90, of Winnsboro, South Carolina. We announce his transitioning out of time into eternity on Sunday, April 2, 2023, he was surrounded by his beloved wife Mrs. Betty Enloe and family.

Mr. Julius Bernie Enloe was born June 8, 1932 to the late William Henry and Mattie Jessie Faust Enloe and he departed this life on Sunday, April 2, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Enloe was employed with SMI-Owen Miscellaneous for 28 ½ years in the Shipping, Receiving and Purchasing Divisions, he was employed with Uniroyal for 17 plus years and he was in the Naval Reserves for 8 years.   Mr. Enloe was a member of Stephen Greene Baptist where he served as a Chairman of the Deacons, member of the choir, R.A. Leader, Brotherhood Director, teacher for youth and men’s classes, and member of the Fairfield Breakfast Club where he served as Vice Chairman.

In December 2003, as appreciation for he and his wife working with the flowers for many years, the Winnsboro Town Council named the corner in front of his home “The Enloe Corner.”

Mr. Enloe is survived by his wife, Betty J. Herrington Enloe; one son, Richard L. (Patti) Enloe, Sr.; and one grandson, Richard Enloe, Jr. of Greenville, SC.
