The management (Eddie & Jackie Nelson) and the support staff of Nelson's Funeral Home sadly announce the passing of Mrs. Karen V. Smith, 50 of Blythewood, South Carolina.

Karen was known for vibrant spirit, Joyful heart, and deep love for her family, Karen's presence brought light and laughter to all who knew her.  Karen adored her grandchildren and treasured every moment spent with them. She as their biggest cheerleader, their comforter, and their friend.

Karen also had a passion for shopping, always on the lookout for the perfect find.  Whether it was for herself or those she loved, she enjoyed the thrill of the search and the joy of giving.

She was also known for her playful attempts at singing- whether on key of not, her performances were full of heart and humor and always left those around smiling.

Karen will be remembered for her warmth, and the way she made everyone feel like family. Her love lives on in the hearts of her family, who will miss her dearly.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 25, 2025, 11:00 a.m. at Purity Lodge, 63 Scarlet Ln. Ridgeway, South Carolina, followed by interment at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road Columbia, South Carolina 29229.

A public viewing will be held Tuesday, June 24, 2025, 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at Nelson's Funeral Home, 270 N. Dogwood Ave. Ridgeway, South Carolina 29130.
