It is with sadness that the management (Eddie & Jackie Nelson) and the support staff of Nelson's Funeral Home announce the passing of Mother Mary Henderson, 93, of North Augusta, South Carolina formerly of Winnsboro, South Carolina.  Mother Henderson transitioned peacefully at her residence.

Born the eldest of eight children, Mary naturally carried the grace, wisdom, and strength of a firstborn.  She led her family with love and resilience, always offering a guiding hand and a warm heart.

Mary was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother.  Her family was the center of her world, and she poured her boundless love into every generation that followed her.  Whether it was offering sage advice, sharing a hearty laugh, or simply sitting close and listening, she made everyone feel cherished and special.

A woman of unmistakable style and sophistication, Mary was rarely seen without one of her signature stylish hats, she wore each one with elegance and flair. Her presence lit up every room- not because of how she looked, but because of how she made others feel. 

She had a sharp wit and a keen sense of humor that kept those around her smiling, and she had a gift making people laugh in the best and most unexpected ways.

Mary loved playing bingo, where her competitive spirit and joyful energy made her a favorite among her friends and fellow players. 

She leaves behind a legacy of loved, laughter, and strength. Gone but never will she be forgotten. 

Funeral Services for Mrs. Henderson will be held Friday, June 13, 2025, 11:00 a.m. at White Oak Baptist Church #1, 520 White Oak Church Rd., Winnsboro, SC 29180.   Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC.  Public viewing will be held Thursday, June 12, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
