It is with profound sadness that management (Eddie & Jackie Nelson) of Nelson's Funeral Home announce the passing of Merrill S. Martin,87 of Lugoff, South Carolina.  Mr. Martin passed Saturday, February 22, 2025, A man of deep passion and unwavering devotion, Merrill found joy in life's simple yet profound pleasures- music, baseball, and the love of his family. 

A true music enthusiast, Merrill cherished all genres, finding comfort and inspiration in melodies that spanned generations. One of his favorite hymns, How Great Thou Art, reflected his deep appreciation for faith and beauty.

Baseball was another of his lifelong loves, and pastime that brought him endless excitement.

A proud veteran of the United States Army. Merrill served his country with honor and dedication.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 27, 2025, 2:00 p.m. at Nelson's Funeral Home Chapel, 270 N. Dogwood Ave. Ridgeway, South Carolina.  Public viewing will be held Wednesday, February 26, 2025, from 4:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

Interment will be held in Fort Jackson National Cemetery Monday, March 3, 2025, 1:00 p.m. with full military honors.
