We want to ensure you; we are taking extra precautions in our facility by sanitizing it daily. We need your help, COVID-19 is sweeping the nation and requiring our immediate attention and adjustments in the way we manage our services.  Please be considerate and help us as we try to keep our families, staff and facility safe.

The management Eddie & Jackie Nelson and the Support Staff of Nelson’s Funeral Home sorrowfully announce the passing of Mrs. Alta Owens 81, of Winnsboro, South Carolina.

Mrs. Owens transitioned into eternity to be with the Lord Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at her residence surround by her loving family.    

The family will have a meet and greet at their residence 416 Hudson Street, Winnsboro, South Carolina on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.  

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Eddie Lyle officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Owns lived in Winnsboro, South Carolina, but she was formerly of West Jefferson, North Carolina.     

Mrs. Owens is survived by her husband, Gary Owens; son, Robert (Pam) Owens; daughter, Rose Owens; two granddaughters, Amanda Owens and Savanna Bairefoot; two great-grandsons, Jaxon Speagle and Braxten Owens; one sister, Lillian Weissenberger; eight nieces; one nephew; a host of great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Blanche Miller Testerman; her father, Walter Reece Testerman; and three sisters, Laura Wood, Mamie Gentry and Doris Nance.
