Randal Sisk Obituary

Randal Flay Sisk, 64, of Winnsboro, SC passed away peacefully on May 19, 2025, surrounded by family at Prisma Health Baptist Hospital after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.

Known by most as Randy, he was a dedicated servant to his community. He spent much of his life as a first responder with the Fairfield County Community Volunteer Fire Department, Fairfield County Rescue Squad, the Town of Winnsboro, and also a Paramedic. His career was more than a job-it was a calling. He was passionate about helping others and took immense pride in being there for people in their greatest time of need. After retiring from being a first responder he continued to serve his community as an activity school bus driver, ensuring the safety and well-being of the children he transported each day. Growing up, he was actively involved in helping his dad with his Tom’s food snack franchise, and as an adult, he started a Tom’s franchise of his own.

Randy’s kind heart, sense of responsibility, and his warm smile made him a beloved figure among the families he served and colleagues.

Above all, Randy was a family man. He was a loving husband, father, and devoted grandfather. His family was his joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them. He leaves behind a loving wife of 40 years, Cynthia Sisk, 3 children, Christopher Gantt (April), Amanda Jarvenpaa (Matt), and James Sisk (Alicia), along with 9 grandchildren, Christian, Bailey, Nicole, Isabella, Olivia, Samantha, Taylor, Jonathan, and Rebecca. He also leaves behind a loving sister, Claudia Heath (Dan) and a stepmother, Nancy Sisk along with a niece and nephew.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Flay and Juanita Sisk, of Gastonia, NC.

Randy’s legacy is one of service, strength, and compassion. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and the community he so faithfully served.

If desired or in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SC Firefighters Foundation or the American Cancer Society.

Assisting the Sisk family with arrangements and funeral services is Nelson’s Funeral Home of Ridgeway, SC, under the compassionate and kind care of Eddie and Jackie Nelson and staff.
