With mixed emotions and broken hearts, the management, Eddie & Jackie Nelson and the Support Staff of Nelson’s Funeral Home sympathetically announce the passing of Rev. Van Buren Fore, Jr., 80, of Columbia, South Carolina.
Rev. Fore transitioned into eternity Saturday, October 31, 2020, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Rev. Fore was a retired military veteran and he was a retired employee of the US Department of Veterans Affairs on Assembly Street in Columbia, SC. Rev. Fore was former Pastor/emeritus of the St. Mark Baptist Church, Ridgeway, South Carolina and he was a member of Fort Clark Baptist Church in Elgin, SC.
While the family would love to be surrounded by your presence, they acknowledge the health risk to family, church members, friends, and particularly to those who are most vulnerable to the disease, the elderly and those with chronic health conditions.
In consideration of the current health crisis facing our world, nation, state and local community the family of Rev. Van B. Fore, Jr., has decided to have a funeral service for their immediate family only.

Interment will be held at Fort Jackson National Cemetery Monday, November 9, 2020.
At the request of the family there will be “no” public viewing.
