The management (Eddie & Jackie Nelson) and the dedicated support staff of Nelson's Funeral Home regretfully announce the passing of Rev. Willie "P.Y." Kennedy, 68, entered into eternal rest on June 24, 2026. 

Willie affectionally known by family and friends as "P.Y.," was a man whose life was rooted in faith, family, and fellowship. He loved people and never met a stranger. His warm spirit, kind heart, and welcoming smile touched the lives of many thought-out his community. 

A devoted man, Willie cherished the time he spent with his loved ones. He was deeply committed to his family and found great joy in encouraging, supporting, and sharing life with them. Willie was a faithful minister who loved preaching and teaching the Word of God. His passion for ministry and sharing the gospel was evident throughout his life.  He found fulfillment in serving others and helping lead souls closer to Christ. His faith was the foundation upon which he built his life, and his testimony will continue to inspire those who knew him. 

In his younger years Willie enjoyed playing baseball and carried a love for the sport throughout his life.  The lessons of teamwork, dedication, and perseverance that he learned on the field reflected the way he lived each day. Though he will be greatly missed, Willie leaves a legacy of faith, love, compassion, and service that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, June 30, 2026, 12:00 noon at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 4991 Park Road Ridgeway, South Carolina 29130.
