We are privileged to serve those who desire our services during their time of need.  We take the safety and health of your family very seriously.  We always strive to exceed the expectations for every family, and will continue to do so during these challenging days ahead. We want to ensure you; we are taking extra precautions in our facility by sanitizing it daily. We need your help, COVID-19 is sweeping the nation and requiring our immediate attention and adjustments in the way we manage our services.  Please be considerate and help us as we try to keep our families, staff and facility safe.

It is with great sadness that Eddie & Jackie Nelson and the Support Staff of Nelson’s Funeral Home sympathetically announce the passing of Mrs. Tammy F. Sims 61, of Ridgeway, South Carolina.

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, cousin, aunt and friend, Tammy Felder Sims, entered eternal rest on June 16, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.   Tammy was born February 21, 1961 in Columbia, SC to the late Johnnie Edward and Joann O’Brien Felder.

Tammy attended the Public Schools of Richland County.   After high school, she attended the University of South Carolina and received a Bachelor’s Degree.   She was employed with DHEC as a Program Coordinator and retired in 2021 after 30 years of service.

Tammy was happily married to Ernie Sims, her husband and best friend of 35 years.  They had three children.

Tammy was a loving and caring person, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.   She was an avid Gamecock fan, lover of Stephen King novels, and she loved computer games.  Tammy loved her church and her Sunday School class.

Those left to cherish her memories are:  her husband, Ernest Sims; her three children, Corey (Linsey) Sims, Jessica (Brett) Severt and Eddie (Catie) Sims.   She loved her grandchildren beyond words and they always brought a smile to her face.   They are:  Bohannon Sims, Emma Severt, Lincoln Severt, Lucy Sims and Brodie Sims.  She will forever be in our hearts.

A Celebration of Life for Tammy will be held on Friday, June 24, 2022, 10:00 a.m. at Washington Street Baptist Church, 101 South Vanderhorst Street, Winnsboro, SC.

The family will visit with friends and family after the service.
