We mourn the passing of Mr. Valdon Walker Jr.,76, of Columbia, South Carolina, who left us on Saturday, April 25, 2026.  Valdon dedicated his life to the social work profession, where his compassion touched countless lives. 

Known for his warmth, he never met a stranger, and his kindness radiated to everyone he encountered.  He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Mr. Valdon Walker, Jr. was born November 6, 1949 in Augusta, GA to the late Valdon Walker, Sr. and Annie Mae Walker.  He entered eternal rest on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Lexington Medical Center in West Columbia, SC.

Valdon served in the United States Army for approximately two years; and he lived in Washington DC and Columbia, SC for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Louise Walker; two sisters, Alice Vaughns of August, GA and Velma (James) Johnson of Savannah, GA; two nieces, Pastor Rosalyn Jones and Stephanie (Ronnie) Hill of Augusta, GA; one nephew, Derrick T. Johnson of Savannah, GA; one aunt, Christine  McGruder of Augusta, GA; one great-aunt, Hattie Lanham Holloway of Ft. Washington, MD; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

A memorial celebration will be held Saturday, May 9, 2026, 11:00 A. M. at Christ Fellowship Church, 3006 Richmond Hill Road, Augusta, Georgia 30906
