Eugene Mclurkin

The Management and Support Staff of Nelson's Funeral  Home, LLC announce the  death of Mr. Eugene McLurkin, 64, of 343 Bishop Squirewell Road, Ridgeway, South Carolina.  Mr. Mclurkin died Saturday, February, 7, 2015.

Funeral Services will be held, Friday, February 13, 2015, 11:00 a.m. at Nelson's Funeral Home Chapel, 270 N. Dogwood Ave.,  Ridgeway, South Carolina.

Interment will follow in  Fort Jackson National Cemetery in Columbia South Carolina.

Mr. Eugene McLurkin was born on November 20, 1950 in Ridgeway, South Carolina to the late Thomas McLurkin and Eliza Ann McLurkin.  He peacefully entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at the WJ Bryan Dorn Veterans Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina.

He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Ridgeway, South Carolina and he attended the Public Schools of Fairfield County.  Eugene worked at Branham’s Garage in Ridgeway for many years.

He leaves a legacy of love, cherished and fond memories for his wife, Cora McLurkin of Columbia, South Carolina; his daughter, Carol McLurkin of Winnsboro, South Carolina; two sons, Jamil O. McLurkin and Arlueius McLurkin of Columbia, South Carolina; one brother, Tyrone (Ruby) McLurkin of Ridgeway, South Carolina; three sisters, Tallulah P. Jefferson of Baltimore, Maryland, Mary P. Starks of Ridgeway, South Carolina, Emma P. Reeves of Belmont, North Carolina; one sister-in-law, Rosa Lee Peay of Ridgeway, South Carolina; his caregiver, Michele Walker of Ridgeway, South Carolina; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Eugene was preceded in death by his mother, Eliza Ann McLurkin, one sister, Alberta Belton and one brother, Heyward Peay.
