Mr. McArthur Bell, 72, of 236 Longtown Road, Ridgeway, South Carolina died Friday, December 26, 2014.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, December 31, 2014, 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church  4991 Park Road, Ridgeway, South Carolina.  Interment will follow in Memorial Garden of Columbia  Cemetery, 9301 Wilson Boulevard, Columbia, South Carolina.

The Family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, December 30, 2014, 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.

There will be no public viewing of Mr. Bell.

On Friday, December 26, 2014, he heard the voice saying, “The place I went to prepare for you is ready. You must leave your loved ones but I will take care of them as I have taken care of you.”  

McArthur Bell was born July 8, 1942 in Ridgeway, South Carolina. He was the son of the late Joe and Estelle Stone Bell.  He was educated in the Fairfield County Public School System and he was a member of the Longtown Masonic Lodge #123.  He had a career that expanded over forty years, working in manufacturing at Uniroyal, DuPont, Hon USA, and Koyo Bearings.  At an early age, McArthur accepted Christ and joined Antioch Baptist Church.   He later joined Refuge Temple, where he was a faithful member and deacon.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 52 years, Jessie Mae; a daughter, Reecy (John) Thompson of Ridgeway, South Carolina; three sons, Dwayne (Hazel) Bell of Ridgeway, South Carolina, Wade (Jacqueline) Bell, and Darryl (Darlene) Bell, both of Blythewood, South Carolina; eight grandchildren, Anthony (Bridget), Charise, DeAlva Nicole, Brandi, Alecia, LaDeja, Jordin, and Erica; two step grandchildren, Jesse Broome and D’Chante Simmons; three sisters, Lottie (Clifford) Scott of Norwich, Connecticut, Alberta (Grant) Williams of Lorton, Virginia, and Dr. Josephine (Dr. Joseph) Patton of Spartanburg, South Carolina; one brother, David (Lillian) Bell of Blythewood, South Carolina;  two half-siblings, Joseph (Jeannine) Green of Leominster, Massachusetts and Patricia (Randy) Howard of Mitchellville, Maryland; five sisters-in-law, Joyce Bell of Blythewood, South Carolina; Blanche (George) Davis of Winnsboro, South Carolina; Rachel (George) Bell; Bernice Tucker; and Inetta (Monzell) Simpson all of Ridgeway, South Carolina; one  brother-in-law,  Elijah Butler of Ridgeway, South Carolina; a special aunt, Dinah Stone of Columbia, South Carolina; a dear nephew, Angus (Jamie) Bell, Esq. of Middlesex, New Jersey; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Lillian Jackson, Solomon Bell, and Freddie Bell.
