Odell Gaither

The Management and Support Staff of Nelson's Funeral Home, LLC anounces the death of Mr. Odell Gaither,21, of 2301 Ridgeway Road, Lugoff South Carolina. Mr. Gaither died Sunday, July 5, 2015, in Greeenville Memorial Hospital , Greenville South Carolina.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 10, 2015, 3:00 p.m. at Sawney Creek Baptist Church, 14605 State Highway 34 East, Ridgeway, South Carolina 29130.  Interment will follow in Fairfield Community Cemetery, Winnsboro South Carolina.

Mr. Gaither's remains may be viewed Thursday, July 9, 2015,  2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home 270 N. Dogwood Ave. Ridgeway, South Carolina and one hour prior to the funeral service Friday, July 10, 2015 at the church.

Obituary 

Odell Gaither was born on July 30, 1993 in Columbia, South Carolina to Phyllis Jones and the late Otis Gaither, Jr.  He departed this earthly life on Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Greenville Memorial Hospital in Greenville, South Carolina.

Odell was educated in the public schools of Kershaw County and graduated from Lugoff-Elgin High School.  He was pursuing a degree in physical education at the University of South Carolina Upstate in Spartanburg, South Carolina.  He was an active member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity.  Odell was scheduled to graduate in the December Class of 2015. Odell was an amazing, kind-hearted person who will be remembered for always wearing a beautiful smile on his face. 

To know Odell was to love him. Fond and endearing memories will forever be in the hearts of his loving mother, Phyllis Jones; his two brothers, Jonathan Wise (Jessica Danzy) of Columbia, South Carolina and Curt Stevenson of Winnsboro, South Carolina; two sisters, Lannie Gaither of Winnsboro, South Carolina and Lakisha Lamar of Ohio; four aunts, Peggy (Willie) Belton, Kaythlia (Tommie) Hair, Angela (Lucius) Harrison and Sherrie Haigler; three uncles, Kenneth (Tonia) Jones, Donnie Gibbes and Tony Gibbes; and a host of caring relatives and friends who are saddened by his passing, but rejoice now that he is “in God’s loving care.”
