The Management and Support Staff of Nelson's Funeral Home, LLC  sorrowfully announce the death of Mrs. Tony Mae (Tee) Butler, 82, of Ridgeway, South Carolina.  Mrs. Butler departed her earthly life and transcended to her heavenly home Monday, June 15, 2015.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 19, 2015, 11:00 a.m. at Rock Hill Baptist Church, 1060 Shivers Green Road, Ridgeway, South Carolina.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  

Public viewing will be held Thursday, June 18, 2015, 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home,  270 N. Dogwood Ave.  RIdgeway, South Carolina.  

Mrs. Tony Mae Butler, affectionately known as Tea, was born on July 15, 1932 in Ridgeway, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Tony Bush and Laura Belton Bush-Griffin. She entered into eternal rest on June 15, 2015 at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina.

Tony Mae joined Antioch Baptist church at an early age.  After being united in holy matrimony to the late Calvin Butler, Sr., she joined Rock Hill Baptist church.  She was educated in the public schools of Fairfield County.

 Tony Mae was employed at Geiger Elementary school for 29 years where she served as a cook. She also worked as a cook at Camp Longridge in Longtown, South Carolina. Before her health declined, Tony Mae loved fishing, quilting, cooking, planting flowers, and making her “famous” sweet potato pies. Her motto was “Give me my flowers while I live”.

Tony Mae was married to the late Calvin Butler, Sr. for 52 years. She leaves to cherish her precious memories: three sons, James (Diana) Bush and Carl “Pete”  (Janie) Butler of Columbia, South Carolina; Calvin “Buddy” Butler Jr. of Indianapolis, Indiana; four daughters, Mattie Glasgow, Mary Anne (Harold) Durant of Columbia South Carolina, Hazel “Betty” (Stanley) Seibles of Rockingham, North Carolina and Evelyn “Lynn” (Nickley Lee) Hudson of Ridgeway South Carolinas; one brother, Joe Griffin and one sister, Lottie Russell both of Columbia, South Carolina;  son-in-law, Collis Scott, Jr.; two sisters-in-law, Sarah Jane Bush of Ridgeway, South Carolina and Ida Bush of Blythewood, South Carolina; special friends, Patricia Lovejoy of Lugoff, South Carolina and Margaret Cannady of Ridgeway, South Carolina; twenty-eight grandchildren , fifty-two great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Tony Mae was preceded in death by one sister, Lucretia Roach; six brothers, Walter Griffin, Willie James, Robert, George, Leroy and Sylvester Bush; and two daughters, Carolyn Butler and Lauretta Scott.
