Frances Baker Herrin was born on August 10, 1927 and early in the morning of March 4, 2015 God gave her wings to meet her beloved husband, William and daughter, Marian to rejoice together. She was the only daughter of the late William and Sallie Curry Baker. “Frankie” was the nickname given by her seven brothers and she was the apple of their eyes.

Frances attended the public schools in Richland County and was a graduate of the Booker T. Washington High School Class of 1946. She later attended Benedict College. Frances worked in the health care field for many years and she retired from Moncrief Army Hospital at Fort Jackson.

At an early age, Frances was baptized at Saint John Baptist Church where she attended until her health declined. She was a member of the Deaconess Board and the Sallie Boular Circle. Frances was a member of the Golden Acres Community Association where she served as treasurer and a member of the community choir. She was also a member of the Shepherd Center.

Frances enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She made sure her plants were properly groomed. She was an immaculate housekeeper as well. She trusted God to lead and guide her in all her ways. Our mother enjoyed helping others and visiting the sick.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband, William Herrin and her daughter, Marian Lawson.   Frances was a devoted wife and mother.

Precious memories of her will be cherished by her daughter, Wanda Herrin Beatty, her son, Van Herrin and loving daughter-in-law, Gail. Four grandchildren: Brandon Herrin Beatty, Ralph Donnell Lawson Jr., Nicole Vanielle Herrin and William Jordan Herrin. Two great- grandchildren:  Zion Jacques Thompson and Braylon Jordan Herrin: a sister in- law, Alice Baker and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
