Dear Family,
We are very sorry over the loss of your loved one. Death is our enemy for we were created to live forever. However, death will be eliminated from the earth under the rulership of Jesus Christ. Those asleep in death will be resurrected back to the peaceful earth to live forever among family and friends. (Isaiah 25:8; Acts 24:15)
May you be comforted by God's promises.

My husband and I met Donna at one of the CBC meetings at Beaufort, SC. She led one of the trips to some impoundments and was really terrific. As time went by I always read her posts on carolinabirds. We really appreciated her sharing her knowledge of birds with us in an entertaining way. Here's hoping her spirit is soaring with the birds..

Donna was one of a kind, and undoubtedly the best "birder by ear" SC has ever had. I will always hear the sound of her laugh in the sweet songs of the Pine Siskins. Rest in Peace, dear friend.

Sorry at Donna's passing. I will always remember her contributions to birding and the environment. I always enjoyed participating in the Lake Wateree Christmas Bird Count which Donna coordinated.

I so enjoyed as others did from Fairfield County visiting her farm and hearing her share the stories of her chickens and their amazing eggs. She imparted her love of the farm with such joy that it left an everlasting impression on our community.

I remember lots of good times with Donna when we were kids. She was fun and smart and was friends with everyone. We rode bikes and talked for hours about everything and nothing at all.

Donna was a rock star to me. We were in school together at Lexington. She was every kind of cool I wanted to be - brilliant and self assured and kind. Seeing now what she has been doing with her life, I am once again thinking as I so often did, "what a cool chick!". I am so sorry for your loss and the world's loss of such a one as Donna. Peace be with you.

Donna was my best friend when we were kids at Lexington. I have amazing memories of spending the night at her home. Recently, we reconnected at the Farmer's Market. She truly had the most amazing eggs ever! I'm going to miss her.
