To the family of Dwaine I'm so deeply sorry for your loss. I shall never forget the wonderful person he was and the laughs and tears we shared. He was a fighter and he fought till the end. I learned of his passing today for I have been out of the area for quite sometime. When I returned, my niece a former graduate of WSSU shared the news with me. Needless to say it brought me to tears. He is resting Now. May God comfort and keep you during this time of sorrow and forever more. Be truly blessed.

Chilly" was my partner at Forsyth County Sheriffs Office for four years, but my friend longer. He was a man unashamed to admit his love of God and his family, especially his mother. A man as comfortable on the football field, as he was in second grade classrooms, wielding an orange snail puppet named Sammy, instructing on how to identify child abuse, or in front of a "captive" audience of parents teaching them how to do it better. His demeanor, smile and laugh charmed and comforted many. Those who knew him were blessed. His driving terrified me, his two trays of food at K&W made me laugh. A special, one of a kind, good man.

Sending my deepest condolences to the family. I had the great privilege of working with Dwaine. He was loved by his colleagues and gave much to the community of people with disabilities whom he supported. God rest his soul and thanks for gracing us with his gifts.
