*I had the honor of serving with Mr. Tinsley in 1973-4 with the "winter over crew" in McMurdo Station, Antarctic. My job was to provide long distance "phone patches" over the radio for my shipmates during those long cold months. I got to know all of them very well. I'll always remember him, his warm smile and genuine friendship. RIP James, see you on the other side. And my condolences to those he left behind.

Former shipmate.

Please accept my deepest sympathy in the home going of James. We were stationed together in Antarctica. I truly admired him in so many ways. I still remember when he became "Commanding Officer for the Day" and our CO spent the day in the galley. I often thought of him over the many past years.
To James, calm seas and following winds.
Salute!

Let not your heart be troubled, you believe in God, believe also in me.
In my Father's house are many mansions, If it were not so I would have you.
I go and prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.
