John Anthony Gibson

The Management and Support Staff of Nelson's Funeral Home, LLC announce the death of Mr. John Anthony Gibson, 49, of  156 Dixie Drive, Ridgeway, South Carolina. 

Mr. Gibson departed his earthly life Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital, Columbia, South Carolina.

Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, January 21, 2016, 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 4991 Park Road, Ridgeway, South Carolina.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  

Public viewing of Mr. Gibson will be held Wednesday, January 20, 2016 beginning at 3:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Nelson's Funeral Home,  270 North Dogwood Ave.,  Ridgeway, South Carolina.

John Anthony “Lil Dad” Gibson, Sr. was born on September 23, 1966.  He departed his earthly life January 16, 2016 at Palmetto Richland Heart Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina.  He was the son of Rosa (Joseph) Haigler and Willie Davis of Ridgeway, South Carolina.

He attended the public schools of Fairfield County.  John “Lil Dad” enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking and dancing. 

He leaves to cherish warm and fond memories one daughter, Khadejah Gibson of Ridgeway, SC; two sons, John Anthony Gibson, Jr. and David Gibson of Ridgeway, SC; three grandchildren; his mother, Rosa (Joseph) Haigler of Ridgeway, SC; his father, Willie Davis of Ridgeway, SC; two brothers, David “Parnell” Gibson of Ridgeway, SC and Willie Davis of Salisbury, NC; two sisters, Greta D. (Jarquis) Lucas of Greensboro, NC and Doreen Davis of Salisbury, NC; two step-sisters, Marshell  Haigler of Blythewood, SC and Karen Haigler of Ridgeway, SC; a very special friend, Linda Butler of Ridgeway, SC; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.
